PRESS RELEASE FROM HARLINGEN WATERWORKS SYSTEM

Despite several reports and social media posts spreading false information, water provided to retail and wholesale customers of Harlingen Waterworks System has recently undergone extensive testing by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality who has affirmed that our water is in full compliance with State standards.

A municipality that purchases wholesale water bears responsibility for operation of its own water system to ensure water quality is maintained after it takes delivery of the water.  Nevertheless, Harlingen Waterworks System is currently taking measures above and beyond our obligations in an effort to help two of our municipal wholesale customers to recover from the Boil Water or Do Not Consume notices they are currently under.
