Parks & Recreation Department
Parks Division


The Parks Division is responsible for the planning, procurement, and development of park land and facilities. This department provides the care and maintenance of all City-owned parks. Included in the park inventory are approximately 556 acres of park and recreational facilities. This division also maintains public building grounds. In addition, the department provides for the preparation of recreational facilities such as baseball, softball, soccer, and football fields. It constructs park restroom facilities, irrigation systems, park shelters, fences, playground equipment, and other park-related construction activities.

Park use permits for special events will be issued at our office (502 E. Tyler).  The fee as of July 16, 2018 is $50.00 for residents and $100.00 for non-residents.
