The Harlingen Public Library provides dynamic and engaging services for a diverse and constantly evolving community.  We champion creativity, innovation, literacy, and personal and community development for everyone.

We exist to build bridges that strengthen the ties of our community. We create innovative pathways for people to connect with information and each other. Services offered:
  • Circulation of books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books
  • Downloadable eBooks and audiobooks
  • Reference services using reliable internet resources, databases with extensive collections of magazines and professional publications, and other current reference resources
  • Children's programming including story times, therapy dog visits, seasonal programs, and holiday events
  • Teen programming including a Teen Advisory Group, book club, anime/manga club, game time, and volunteer opportunities
  • Adult programming including author visits, tax assistance, computer instruction, book club, and special presentations
  • Local historical archival information and genealogy research
  • Mango languages, a free language learning resource
