HARLINGEN, TEXAS–Dozens of first responders and City leaders were on hand Friday to welcome Adriana and Eli Vela as they officially opened Harlingen’s first Firehouse Subs.
The restaurant is located in the Harlingen Corners Retail Center and specializes in sandwiches. The franchise, with more than 1100 restaurants nationwide was founded by former firefighter brothers who believe in giving back to the community.
Firehouse Subs is known for providing grants through its Public Safety Foundation to local first responders for the purchase of life-saving equipment. Since the foundation started, it has granted more than $48 million.
