HARLINGEN, TEXAS– Basketball enthusiasts on the southeast side of town will soon have a brand new court where they can play hoops.
With the help of a Community Development Block Grant, the Parks and Recreation Department is adding the first basketball court complete with lights at Rangerville Park.
Already, crews have excavated and removed about one foot of dirt. They will then raise the selected area by about a foot and a half, compact new dirt, and then pour the concrete. Once that is complete, City crews will begin installing the lights. The project should be complete within four to six weeks.
Players of all ages are welcome you’ll just have to provide your own basketball.
