Cameron County has received confirmation of an additional 308 laboratory reports of COVID-19. This includes the following 206 reports:

As Cameron County Public Health works with unaccompanied minor shelters and detention centers addressing the COVID-19 cases in their facilities, an additional 102 laboratory reports of COVID-19 from the facilities were reported to include:

The 308 cases reported today raises the total number of COVID-19 cases to 44,817 in Cameron County. There have also been an additional 45 individuals who have recovered, raising the total number of recovered individuals to 40,750.

 

Cameron County Public Health has received notification of one additional COVID-19 related death of a Cameron County resident. This raises the total of number of COVID-19 deaths in Cameron County to 1,712.

Cameron County continues the vaccination efforts within our communities. As of today, 69.11% of the population 12 years and older in Cameron County is fully vaccinated and 81.92% has received at least one dose. In addition, 82.11% of the population 65 years and older in Cameron County is fully vaccinated and 90.30% has received at least one dose. As part of the COVID-19 action response plan, Cameron County Public Health is conducting epidemiological investigations, contact tracing as needed and continues to monitor the situation.
