HARLINGEN, Texas– The Harlingen City Commission will hold a special meeting on June 28, 2021, to canvass the votes of the June 19 Special Run-Off Election. Almost 450 people participated in the necessary run-off to select a City Commissioner for District 4.
Voters were choosing between Basilio “Chino” Sanchez and Frank Morales who were the top two vote-getters during the City’s Municipal General Election on May 1.
The unofficial results are as follows

The City Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. at Harlingen City Hall to canvass the votes as required to certify the election. The purpose is to account for every ballot and ensure that every vote cast is included in the election totals. Once the votes are canvassed, Commissioner Elect Frank Morales will be sworn in. He will take over for Ruben de la Rosa who decided not to seek re-election.
