Harlingen Recognizes Local Nurses

HARLINGEN, Texas– The City of Harlingen has vaccinated thousands of people against COVID-19 with the help of nurses who volunteer their time to help the community.

Nurses from Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen Medical Center, HCISD, South Texas Emergency Care Foundation, UTRGV, TSTC, and specially trained Harlingen Fire Fighters have administered more than 20,000 Moderna and Pfizer Vaccines during 16 vaccine clinics and the Homebound Program organized and operated by the City at the Harlingen.

That’s why the city officials recently took time to recognize them with a proclamation in observance of National Nurses Week.  The proclamation is a small token of gratitude for all they have done and continue to do to ensure the safety and well-being of the community during this ongoing pandemic.

The proclamation also recognizes the continuous efforts by nurses at our local hospitals, clinics, and private facilities who unselfishly met the challenge of an unimaginable pandemic with courage, compassion, dedication, and leadership.

Today and every day the City of Harlingen recognizes and thanks all registered nurses for continuing to lead the charge for health and wellness in our City.
