Harlingen Officials Help HEB with Annual Feast of Sharing

Harlingen, Texas– Mayor Chris Boswell and Commissioner Tudor Uhlhorn along with a delegation of City employees joined with HEB for the 25th Annual Feast of Sharing held recently in Harlingen where thousands of area residents were fed.

HEB Spokesperson Linda Tovar says HEB prepares about 3,000 pounds of sliced turkey, 2,500 pounds of cornbread dressing, 750 pumpkin pies, 380 gallons of mashed potatoes, and 140 gallons of turkey gravy for an average event like the one here in Harlingen.

HEB started Feast of Sharing 25 years ago in an effort to help fight hunger.  The Harlingen event is one of 24 held throughout the state.

City Department Directors along with City Manager Dan Serna and Assistant City Manager Gabe Gonzalez helped serve the food to the awaiting residents.

The event also included music, arts & crafts, and activities for kids.
