Thousands Converge on Jackson Street for Annual Halloween Celebration

Harlingen, Texas– Witches, goblins, super heroes, movie characters, princes, and princesses were all part of the recent 4th Annual Halloween on Jackson Street event.

Thousands of people took part in the free event that allows kids to trick or treat in a fun and friendly atmosphere without having to worry about vehicles as the street was closed to traffic for the celebration.

There was live music, food, drinks, and plenty of candy handed out by businesses, Texas State Technical College groups, and City of Harlingen employees.

This year’s event also included a Merchant Window Display Contest sponsored by the Downtown Harlingen District.

First place went to Antique Emporium, second place to Nip ‘N Tuck Draperies, and third to Jackson Street Antiques.  Repeat Performance and Salvation Army tied for Honorable Mention.

Congratulations to all and a huge thank you to the thousands of people who attended and helped make this a huge and successful event.
