The Recreation Department provides a diversified year-round recreation program consisting of a variety of activities for the citizens of Harlingen. Special events are another important aspect of our department, hosting Flag Football, Basketball, Softball, Golf and Volleyball Tournaments, an Easter Egg Hunt, Youth Track Meets, Fishing Seminars and a variety of other special events throughout the year. Track and Field for youth ages 6-18. The department also offers a variety of recreational and general interest classes, which are taught by qualified instructors offered for youth as well as adults. The division also acts as a liaison between the City and the various Little League Associations, peewee Football, the Harlingen Tennis Association, the Harlingen Aquatics Team, and Roller Hockey.
The HarlingenParks and Recreation Department strives to provide quality recreation and special interest programs for the growing Harlingen community. We hope the following programs offered will appeal to all members of your family.
